Well today we went up Potato creek. I had heard it was a good little "woodsy' place to go for all your "woodsy" desires.( bike trails. horse trails. lake, camping, hiking etc.etc.etc) Now to expiernced mountain men this would be nothing then a nice picnic area.IT makes the wind caves look like mount everest. But I have to say I quite enjoyed it. A friend of mine ivited me up and said we would do a picnin/hike/ play in the lake time. I was in heaven.. simply because I enjoy being outdoors!!! It was nice to have someone who can enjoy it with me.. Well it turns out Fitting six small kids in one van all in car seats.. takes awhile. But thanks to Nadines Van we did it... We went to the nature center and walked around there... Got back in the van..( after a good 15 min of loading time...) Just to realize that the trail head was right in front of us!!! we got a good laugh out of that one.... I told her to drive around the parking lot a couple times just to make it worth the effort we just put in to get the kids all buckled up... But we decided just to jump out and get it started.. We saw a lot of frogs.. there is a swampy area the older two had walked down to.. the other kids wanted to see the algea on top of standing water too apperantly so I trucked them all down there... Now I thought I was going to be all educational and show the kids how the frogs work in a real pond and to watch for there ripples in the water when the catch the bugs..Jameson was missing them.. and took a step on a log... and at least 6 frogs jumped in the pond. . He missed it.. SO Nadine and I told him to step on the other log and watch the water.. .well. Balance and 7year olds are a little unpredictable, so he stumbled.. Zoe( who is Nadine's oldest) Stumpled.. lost her shoe in the muck. Now has black mucky socks.. Jameson Shoes and legs were officaly mucked up. ALL Just to watch a STUPID FROG JUMP IN THE WATER!!!! Now of course Nadine and I were laughing at this.. go figure. two seconds on the trail and kids are already a mess! GO figure.. Well Zoey Mahelani. from then on out was terrified of the mud..( five seconds before the kids fell in it I was telling her it was gross, and DEE SCUSSSTIINGG!) And I probably scared her with my gasp and trying to get the two oldest out of the algea covered ,frog infested... bug habitated mud! So she was scared of all the mud that was on the trail...And was traumitized that some of the muck flipped up and landed on her sock. ( seriously? what a girl!)
So the 1/2 mile hike. was very long and the younger children were very put out by having to walk and deal with bugs and mud..( who knew that my younger two were such pansies!) We had a pinic in the park area( it has a playground if that gives you and idea.)
And drove over to the sandy part of the lake.. the kids had a great time in there! and had lots of fun with new friends to play with.. Jameson and ZOE. Were fast friends.. and played great together...
It was nice to get back out there in my foresty area.. It was really nice.. I will have to drag Paul back out there. and maybe do some easy camping with the kids. and some trails. (I need to get rid of their pansy-ness.. seriously!!!)
It was a good time!! Nadine if you read this Thanks for taking us up! IT was so fun! Love that you do that kind of stuff. I know who to call for all my outdoorsy needs. You were a great sport! So fun to watch the kids play together! And I'm glad we finally got to hang out!
I am just mad that I forgot my camera! there were some great shots I missed!
Well back to work in the house.. Kids have started a new chore chart.. which has been fabulous.. Jameson is by far the most motivated. But he works just like his father.. just hang a nice shiny quarter, I mean carrot....right it front of him. and he will finish all his chores in record time. Ethan is pretty good. but in true Ethan style gets distracted by the darndest things..and Zoey is selective on what she will and will not help with.. and only if she feels like it.. and could care less about money or stickers! But it is helping to keep the house picked up.
Jameson is now schemeing the deal of getting a cat and how many chores and for how long before he can afford one.. ( Paul is pretty anti-cat.) But I think Jameson has him cornered. So far It will take 5 mo.. of hard chores of mom's or dad's choice. and He has to change the kitty litter weekly.( so far this is as far as the dealing has gone..we'll see how this actually plays out.)
So I'm back to trying to switch up my blog and used Melissa's help with switching up my Html.. I still don't know how you swith your paper with out losing all your links, and I don't know how everyone is getting these cool fonts.. So any useful tips/links anybody wants to share would be great ( reminder that I am some what computer retarded. so try to keep it simple.)

So I have to be truly honest... I am sooo jealous that I couldn't be there. Well only kinda. I am sad I didn't get to hang with you guys but I would have been just as grossed out as Zoey. You know me and bugs, mud, frogs, muck... So on but I am glad you guys are hanging out! Nadine, thanks for being an outdoorsy person. Stace~ needed that kind of buddy, I am soooo not that person.
I miss the kiddos too. Hope they all had fun. All six of you!
new blogaroooo looks darn good so far. in fact, this is what our first blog looked kinda close to. if you go to 3evilmonkeys.blogspot.com, you can see our FIRST EVER blog before you get redirected to our new fabulous, paid-for URL.
i can't remember how you change your fonts, but i know that you can. it's IN the html somewhere in your template. if you know what you want, i can look it and see if i can fix it for you.
and while i'm at it, i'll HACK YOUR BLOG and post pictures of my dog and her poo! YEAH!
Go to Pyzam and click on the Widget/Toys link. You can get that type of stuff there and add it as HTML text. So the hike sounds interesting. I've been hiking up mountains myself, only we're putting fliers on peoples doors but it feels like hiking the wind caves. Speaking of which next time you're up we'll have to do that.
I so wish I could go camping again with you! While I was reading that post I kept thinking about our adventures to Tony Grove. So fun!
Girl, I can't wait to do more "outdoorsy" stuff! It was so much fun, and we had the best time! I'll burn you a CD, but I've also posted pics, movies and my narration of our adventure.
Sorry Katie, I've got her now (mwha-ha-ha-ha!). No, really, we miss you bunches! I wish you were still here to help give Zoey more consolation. She got a "suck-it-up" look from me and Stacey.
