Day at the Zoo

We are now getting into summer routine. I decided to take the kids to our little zoo. ( It isn't hoagle that is for sure... but it's better then willow park. ) As we buy a pass every year since we live less then 5 mi away. But this was our first trip of the summer... Ethan and Zoey were so excited Jameson... well was less then amused... he behaved fine. .But there was no question as to how he felt about it all... it was written all over his face! It takes maybe a half hour to an hour at the most to get thru.. so this wasn't an all day experience.. He just doesn't really care for the zoo... The animals were fun this time.. the bobcats were frisky and fun to watch as well as the tigers etc... Zoey and Ethan got a kick out of it... Zoey ex specially everything she saw... was " wow!! that's amazing!!" and "Look at THAT!" So Jameson hung in there while the others had a good time...
SO were walk'n along and came across the family of Canadian geese. that had no fear of us and was bound to stay on the path and tour the zoo as well.. Zoey thought that was cool and wanted to walk with them. I had to back her off ( she was trying to pet them) But she got to close and one of the pre-teen geese turned on her and started hissing and nipping at her knee caps!! That took her off guard and she did not like that.. Well we couldn't shake them... as they stuck close as we attempted to feed the fish. And the same goose was after ZOEY like no other. we finally chucked the rest of the fish food and left... yes we lost the battle. And Zoey no longer wants to walk with the geese family. poor girl. I wish I could have gotten shots of it.. But that would require giving up my protective mommy card... wouldn't it? can you just imagine! hang in there Zoey mommy just wants to get one more shot of the bird attacking you!!!! ( it was sort of funny)
ah well... I got talked into buying a sucker at the gift shop.. which turned out to be the best thing ever! Jameson was suddenly amused and it was the highlight of the trip~ I got the classic, you're the best mom ever~ which works for me.. And of course the tigers were great to watch... I was glad to get some good shots of the white tiger since he is always sleeping in a far corner when we come!
I loved snapping photos of my kids this trip.. Jameson ex specially since he has so much expression when he is unamused. He reminded me so much of my Dad and Clint.. turns out he has the same mannerisms when he is tired and bored!!!! And man were his green eyes on fire this trip!!!! It was just so honest of feeling. I love it!
Now Ethan is harder to get pic of... since he doesn't stay focused long enough to look at the camera... That and he always lags behind... I am going to learn how to turn around and snap what is behind me instead of what is in front of me! But he was so cute this trip. And always such a good easy going quite kid!!!
