Okay so that photo contest is awesome. I didn't win of course.( I forgot to bribe the judges! ) There was seriously so many cool pictures entered. I agree with who the winners were for sure.. Their pictures were fantastic. I hope they decide to do another contest... And wish I could pick a photographers brain for tips & tricks. I decided that I was going to do my own challenges as well and try to capture certain and not to mention better images.) I will pay closer attention to the next photo contest and let everyone know as soon as I do. I hope some of you come and enter it with me Next time. Quite a few of you take fantastic pictures!!!
Today, I get to take Ethan & Zoey to see their doc. Zoey is getting caught up on immu. shots.(I suck as a mom.. I should be fired.) And Ethan Is being tested for school related topics... Hopefully I will get some answers to my questions and figure out just what needs to be done for him. I am learning to fight as a mom & to lean on instinct over logic. I don't want to make it in to a big deal, Ethan is Healthy and fine... Just some really big concerns over his attention span and fine motor skills.. And that is what he is FINALLY getting tested today. I plan on arguing with the doc.. ( I keep chanting.. BE AGGRESSIVE, BE, BE AGGRESSIVE!!!)
I'm still shaking my head when I went in to ask what the process is and make the appointment. Handed in a HUGE packet from all 3( speech, Occ. therapy & reg teach.) of his teachers.. suggesting he be tested. I still am required to have his current teacher fill out a form before they can start... ( ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!) It irritates me, because, ONE I AM THE MOTHER. . .I AM TELLING YOU he needs to be tested. I don't NEED a teachers consent on MY CHILD. And two. because I just handed you a big A packet with 3 teachers findings suggesting he get tested!!! And to this I ask.. .WHAT THE HELL?!
I find this to be seriously messed up. But that is the system. .Thank heavens Ethan had the same teacher as last year. That made this process a lot easier.. ( I would have hurt someone if he had a new teacher and thus started all over again.)
I am assuming they will test for A.D.D stuff. ( although if he has it he didn't get the hyper part of it.)
I hope it's all good news.. Wouldn't be happier if they looked at me weird and said there wasn't any thing to find... I guess ,we'll see. Either way it will be nice to have an answers for both me and all his teachers... Either way He will be okay.. he definitely is a sharp little cookie...

bridge is a photographer...pick her brain. she loves to tell people how wonderful she is. ha ha ha! and i loved your picture. i would hang that in my bathroom.
ethan will be fine. they have people who can help with any issue. you just have to find a good one. jake is smart and a fast runner - but he's always in trouble. lucky me. focus on the good - always! you can never go wrong when you focus on the good stuff. hugs to you and i can't wait to hear how the tests turn out.
OK, seriously, I want to know what happened at the doc's!
Don't quite your job just yet, you have another,oh, eternity to get it right. And, believe me, your kids are turning out just fine! So you've gotta be doing a lot of things perfectly.

Okay so I know how it went with the doc and I am happy to know that you finally and I do mean finally have some answers and can sleep at night over it. Good on you for not laying down for the doc to push around. You got the skills as a kick ass mom for sure
Sometimes the system just sucks. Don't ever back down! Be a pain in the ass if thats what it takes to get the attention your child needs so he doesn't fall through the cracks. A very good friend once said to me, "You are your child's only advocate." I have always remembered that when push comes to shove. If I don't fight for my kids, who will? Hope everything turns out okay. Let me know.

About the contest, I have to say that even though you didn't win I still think you shoud frame that picture because it turned out just beautiful.

Don't worry about Ethan, he's the smartest one of them all. Mother intuition is worth ten Doctrate degrees any day.
