Well this last couple weeks. We have had the opportunity to freeze our butts off. With Sub-Zero tempetures. Day in and Day out. Of course some days our far worse then other and a 5 degree day feels semi warm compared to the -15 the day before. And as I said before and I'll say again. Humid winters are far worse then dry winters. FAR WORSE!
Kids have stayed home from school since the temperatures dip so low. And I survived a very long week end being snowed in and freeze out with the kids! I can officially say I am sick of cold weather and winter.
Jameson has decided to start Karate. He has gone to few classes thus far and seems to enjoy it! He comes home and practices so he can understand it more. I think tho' that he was expecting more action and WAACHA"S I don't think he was ready to just do smaller exercise and work on focus etc. So we will see what he thinks at the end of the 7 week period. If he wants to keep going great. If not then I guess he'll choose something else. My guess it will come down to tumbling or basketball.
Ethan has started Tumbling. More by my choice then his. I gave him his choices, I did. But everything I suggested he didn't want to do and constant reply was:" I don't know how" SO I just gave up trying to give him the choice and thought for motor skills and balance and control of body tumbling was perfect. He complained he didn't want to do it. Til he got there as soon as they got started the Ethan surge of excitements went into full force. And he said it was fun. I really think this is was the right choice for him. It is very very basic tumbling. And that is okay since he struggles with it. The other moms and I were sitting in on first day and were cracking up at him . Every time the instructor asked if they took tumbling before to raise hands. and Ethan would raise his hand. ( I would whisper ..NO! first time.) Any time the teacher asked who knew how to do something. Ethan would raise his hands and get really excited. The last one was a how to make a bridge ( back bend) He raised his hand and when asked to describe he shrugged he shoulders. Then she asked him to show the class. He laid on his belly and put his hands out super man style. Then she tried to show him and use him as an example. . .
At this point the other moms and I were cracking up at him.. He was so obsessed with watching him self in the big mirrors. He couldn't follow her directions to save him. So she flipped him on his back and told him to put his arm back and arch.. well.. he put his arms back... took his feet off the floor, then his hands and had the teacher support all his weight on with her hand on his back.. Of course he thinks this is all just fun! I felt bad for the instructor.. but it was just funny! He is the only boy in there.. But as I explained half laughing to the other moms.. as he struggled to do all the tricks that this was EXACTLY why we were doing tumbling and not soccer. He just isn't ready for any sort of ball action. Even against the girls in the 5-6 age group he is soo scrawny! Once he figured out the what the bridge was exactly.. he gave it best effort. His arms just aren't strong enough to push himself up.
But he had a ball! And I really think this will help him a lot.
Zoey isn't signed up for anything right now. But she is so determined to be apart of everything I MIGHT look into tumbling or ballet for her for the summer. But once she starts pre-school that will be it for awhile since it is so expensive. It was hard to explain to her that she couldn't go sit by Ethan and do what he does. The same as when we watched Jameson. She just wants to be a part of everything. And I'm sure it looks fun to her too. So I guess I better see if I can squeeze her in to something not too expensive.
I wish I had pictures of the boys in action But in Karate it's just plain inappropriate . And in tumbling I would just feel like I was distracting everyone. So I have to with hold til I get permission or before or after shots.
Other then that. Life has gone back to the norm. Paul working. Me doing the mom thing. And kids doing the kid thing. I do have a new house project starting up but think I will just post pictures as to what it is when it's done.

Sounds like Ethan is quite an intertaining little guy. Hope he finds his nitch and has fun doing it.
That's too funny about Ethan. What a crack up! I hope you are taking before AND after photos!
well now you have peeked my interest in the house project. How rude you didnt explain that one! lol. I can totally picture Ethan doing the superman backbend!
I understand the no lessons thing. My girls didn't have lessons of any sort (For a really long time when all their friends were) because of the money and because I wouldn't think about it until it was too late. I tried to have them learn things that I could "patiently" teach them...I know you know what I mean. They had fun doing that and it didn't cost anything. It worked out okay and now they do something on monday and I think they appreciate it more. (they had been in dance a few years ago and didn't always get excited) But now they savor every moment and it is great. So don't sweat it...hopefully she won't.
Yey for Karate! I can't wait to put Andrew in it. I think is great to have your kids in different classes because they get to experience what they like and they also find out what they are good at. We started acting classes for Jasmine almost four weeks ago and she loves it.
