Thurs, I had my ultrasound. And luckily Paul was able to come with me. I love ours for the fact you don't have to have a full bladder for your ultrasound. ( don't you think it's hard to concentrate when you have to pee really bad?) or has it really been that long since I've been pregnant?
Everything looks fabulous and she was very photogenic, even I could recognize all the different parts of her. She was very eager to show us her feet, her hands her belly and yes even her lil area! She must be very proud to be a girl and doesn't care who knows it! It was a fun ultra sound, I must admit with the other three, it was hard for me to make out what was what and had to have the technician point it out and trace out what part was which!
When they told us it was a girl. I got excited! I was thinking girl this last mo. or so. and everything girl caught my eye in the store. But the night before I had to remind myself that it could very well be a boy and not to be shocked if they tell me that! ( not that they're is anything wrong with a boy. I just had girl on the brain.)
Paul took his bet on girl on the way to the appointment. I said it would be great to have a girl, but I'll just plan on it being a boy.
I was glad to hear it was a girl for these reasons:
I don't have any boy names picked out that I really like.
I didn't see any cute boy outfits that were "must haves"( okay I didn't really look, I kept getting distracted by the cute lil outfits they have in the girl section!)
Zoey sleeps in a bunk bed, it would be great to have a girl who could take the extra bed
Zoey really really needs a sister.
I love doing girl hair.
I love dressing girls.( Zoey's had plenty of baby clothes I get to dig out!)
I have at least 4 girl names that I Love
the boys to girls ratio will be even'd out!
More importantly she looks great! no concerns and she is developing with everything is where is should be!
We came home to tell the kids, but first asked if they would want a girl baby or a boy. of course the boys said a boy and Zoey said a girl.
After we told them what we were having, Jameson and Zoey were fine with it and just happy and excited about anything baby period.
Ethan, however, was not, He told me he didn't want it be a girl and to make it a boy. I told him that I didn't have a dial on my belly that could switch the baby for a boy. He told me NO on the girl. and how he needed to have another Bro so he could start a band! ( I blame Jonas Bro.)
I tried to talk to him about it, but all he found were the draw backs to his idea. apparently she can't play in a band, she can't play sports. And girls are just STUPID!
He truly was put out by the news. But hopefully he'll get over it by the time the baby comes!
Zoey is very excited to have a baby sister and tells me every min. she wants to name her COWBOY! Jameson is just excited for the baby. And as he tells me, "I've never had a baby before!" this makes me laugh. I think he just doesn't remember zoey when she was small.
Paul's predicts this baby will be darker with green or blue eyes. since we don't have that combo yet.
I think this baby will be light with blue eye's and take after the Irwin side.
I'm more intrigued by what color of eye's she'll have since all our kids have been different.
Jameson are a very cool muddy green
Ethan's are beautiful deep blue
And Zoey's are very dark brown
See why I'm wondering on what could possibly be next? maybe that will be the next bet in the family.

I am so happy that you will have an even number of boys and girls. I am so happy everything looks great. I know that I didn't say I was hoping for either sex just a healthy baby. I was. But I was drawn to the baby girl stuff too. However, boys are super cute too and Brent gets to make him a sporty kid. Hunter didn't like we were having a boy either. Maybe it is a middle kid thing. I don't know. Either way I see another Craig Irwin matramony eh? Congrats again. Brent and I are taking bets on the look of your baby as well. It really is a lottery in your family isn't it?
FUN!! You're right, girls are so much more fun to shop for. Love the name Zoey picked out. Maybe you could use it as the middle name? Just kidding. I'm sure Ethan will come to terms with things....eventually, especially since there's no changing it.
OMG, did I miss the first announcement???? Sooooo exciting!! Congratulations!!! I was just thinking today as I was looking through all my friends names on my blog roll, I thought "Holy moly there are a lot of babies coming into this world....tis the season,,,gotta love it!! Hope you have been feeling good, and once again, sorry I am behind on the congrat's!!!!!
What are the names you have picked out?? I'm so dang excited for you!
