Back to school... already?

Jameson was not excited to go back at all. I'm pretty sure if I didn't have new backpacks and clothes that have been tauning him for a week or two now. I would still be convincing him to get out of bed. But can't say I blame the poor kid. He had a terrible teacher last year.( ding dong the witch is dead)
I don't usually let the kids wear character shirts on the first day. (usually something a little nicer.) But you can't buy Hulk and Kung fu panda shirts and let them sit there for over a week taunting them and then tell them they can't wear them. ( well ya can.. but I wasn't about to take on that battle) Besides it made them super excited for school.

We went to Chicago the day before to see the Field house museum( blog on that later) we were gone the entire day. Our last wahoo before the kids went back. so they were nice and worn out
We go up. ( Just say the word school, or Kung fu panda in Ethan's ear and he is up and moving) Kids got dressed with lots of excitement of all the new stuff they got to wear. Had some great toaster waffles. packed a lunch for Jameson. And they were off!

Ethan is in Kindergarten again with the same teacher( hallelujah!) and is still half day and home by 11 a.m. He loves school. he remember EVERYTHING about it. I am glad He has all the same people working with him this year they were great! I love that he loves school. He is a smart cookie!

Jameson is in second grade this year.. he doesn't love school and can't remember half the things he did by the time he got home. I get true boy answers from him.( uh-huh, yup, good.) But I hope and pray his teachers are great and will restore his faith in them.( if not they will have to deal with ME.) His strength is reading and P.E and art. big weakness is math( takes after his mom I'm afraid) But is such a social butterfly.

First day of school went great. both boys came home excited about their teachers and friends they had made. Jameson already had homework!
when I asked Jameson what he thought of his teacher he said she was nice and didn't even yell at them.. not one time!!! ( seriously crappy teacher last year!) AND he was excited that he didn't have the same music teacher either!( we didn't like her either) And was excited to make a new friends!
Ethan was so excited that his teacher was back( last year she went out on maternity leave) and was telling me every single detail thru his morning!!( memory of an elephant!)
I am sooo glad they were both excited about this school year especially Jameson! Hopefully the excitement will last and they both have a great school year.

Okay so I have only been gone for two months right? Those boys have grown up soooo much in that short time.
I am glad that I got to talk to the boys last night and ask about their day. Jman sounds like he is on the mend from last year, and I think Ethan is in love with Mrs. Zicaly! I am so glad they had an awesome day.
We start next week I will let you know how that goes.
That is too bad about the wicked witch of the west. I say if you can't be good to the kids, you shouldn't be there. But I am glad they started out liking this year. Monday for us.
Your boys are so handsome! You'll have your hands full when the girls start chasing them. Glad the first day was good and the teachers are better this year. Too bad about last year.
I can’t believe that we both have children in second grade this year. Good thing that we are still young and beautiful!:)
Your boys are very handsome!
