This year has been lots of fun with the kids. All the excitement and inpatients for Christmas to come reminds me so much how I felt. That even I am excited for Christmas to come. I'm excited because their excited! And believe me they are very very excited.
I've had so much fun watching the kids learn about the spirit of giving . And letting them earn money to buy gifts for each other. And while it has taken a bit to let go of the hard earned money to buy SOMEONE else a gift.. After they had their turns to wrap the gifts. And see them get so excited for that person.. It was worth the melt downs.. the million question, manipulations. etc.etc.etc.
I' m must admit I'm still trying be consistent with legends of Santa Clause and all his wonder.. It is turning out harder then it should be. Simply because Jameson is just too sharp and is always questioning things. He catches everything! Both he and Ethan remember everything they see and hear.
So here are something I learned and need to improve for next year:
1- I must be come a much better liar and consistent one at that. ( I need flow here.)
2- I must be able to lie on the spot and remember it for next year.
3- I must learn to listen for quite little boys who sneak down the stairs with barely a whisper. And reasons as to why the closet is full of toys and presents.... and why it isn't for them...
4-I must learn to verify the kids are sound a sleep before taking inventory of what is in the SANTA closet.
5- Watching all the Christmas movies Is NOT a good idea.. considering Santa Claus is often a fake or a bad guy and they talk about not believing in Santa clause and how he isn't real...
6-Most of the Santa clause movies do not coincide with what we told them about Santa clause. Which therefore requires a lot of explaining and answering a million questions
7- when buying for your husband online.. Remember not to use his account or card since they send email alerts directly to his blackberry. and this is done IMMEDIATELY! Which results in a call asking what I bought that cost X amount of money....
8- Never tell your husband it's none of his business and stay out and off his email and out of the bank account till after Christmas.... it just gives you away.
9- having a banker and accountant as a spouse isn't fun... you can't pull anything off & they track your every move. which makes it impossible to pull off a surprise.
10- I decided reindeer food isn't a good idea after all, since my 7 year old doesn't think throwing it up on the roof will help the reindeer at all, and thinks it would be better if we got a ladder out and put the food in the bowl on the roof.. since that is the way reindeer eat. He keeps insisting .. there is no way the reindeer are going to be able to Eat the food if it's scattered all over the place.. SIGH I told him they do it all the time and in no way am I getting on the roof. Ruldoph and his friends will just have to work it out.
Lying and covering is exhausting.. even if it is for the greater good..
ANd I'm not very good at it.

Reindeer food on the roof eh? well I didn't give that idea to him ha. at least I have one I'm not in trouble for. I like the list and if I can add anything, It does suck having a banker as a husband at Christmas for sure. You are a good liar (you just forget everything) smooches
Too funny. Yeah, I can totally relate to the bank account thing except its the other way around. Brent NEVER checks it and he tells me not to until after Christmas, which peaksk my curiosity.
Reindeer food. Can't it just be left next to the plate of cookies for Santa and he can take it to the herd? Gads! Glad my kids haven't thought that deep on that one. Good luck.
My internet has been down the last couple days so I just had to catch up on your blog! First....Jameson is so ridiculously (sp) handsome! I laughed pretty hard at how smart he is trying to dupe the toothfairy! Hm...he might make a great business man! :) Second, good luck with the Santa legend! Simon hasn't quite got to the point were he really pays attention, but I'm pretty sure I've ruined the Santa thing for plenty of kids at work! I suck! PS....thanks for the Christmas card!
hahhhaa. this is such a funny post.
jake totally told ALL THE LITTLE kids at day care that santa is really your mom and dad. thanks, jake, for ruining christmas for the little kids. jerk.
paul and i have separate bank accounts. we like it this way for a million reasons, but it's ESPECIALLY kick A at christmas time.
when are you going to learn? grocery shopping etc and small amounts of cash back each time? hit the atm for heck sakes OR shhhh. get your own credit card with online statements. well, I'm off Pauls popular list now. LOL. Sounds like fun, braydon is bouncing off the walls and kallee is excited for presents but does not want santa in the house. We lost our first tooth yesterday and the tooth fairy and her $ were not invited. :( Tammys idea for the bowl by the cookies could work!
