Last night as I was making up a quick dinner for the kids.. ( Okay!It was Ramen noodles .. don't judge me!) I had just finished up watching some kids one of them being a very new newborn which of course the kids were so enthralled with.. and it got them excited for when it was going to be our turn, So after talking about baby's for a bit I sent Jameson to the table to do homework
Jameson looked up at me and asked me this question:
"Mom does it take A LOT of energy to grow a baby?"
Me: " Yes... yes it does."
Jameson: " Does it make you really tired?"
Me: "Yes, but my body is getting used to it."
Jameson" But, how can you use all your energy to grow a baby And still make dinner AND clean the house AND take care of us??"
Me: ( smiling)" Well, I'm a supermom..that is one of my awesome ability's!"
Jameson: ( in awe) Wow!......Can Dad's do that?"
Me: NO.
Jameson: " Oh.....Are ALL mom's supermoms?"
Me: " yes.. some are stronger then others.. but yes".
Jameson: What if they don't have kids? Are they still supermoms?
Me.. Nope.
Jameson... wow... so... what powers do just Dads have????
Me ( smiling) They learn to read mommy's emotions and act accordingly. And they do anything to make sure we're happy.
Jameson: That's it??... wow.. that's not very cool. Oh well at least my dad can fly and steer a car with out hands.
Me: (smiling) It's cooler then you think... but I s'pose it doesn't beat the flying power.
Jameson: I can't believe I have a supermom!.....Mom... You're a really good super mom!
Me: "Thanks buddy."
Then looking at Paul..Said " I didn't know mom was supermom!!!.........But it's okay dad, at least you can fly."
My Keen lil' 8 yr old.. Man I just love him.

I love the conversations you have with that kid and the way he thinks. Be careful not to fall off that pedestal he put you on. You'd get hurt if you fell that far. Love it!!

How sweet! You really are a supermom!!! I can't believe you are creating your 4th kid!! I still feel like Im just borrowing someone else's kid most of the time!

In my house I am the rock star. I roll in to "town" everyone is excited to see me. Me and the kids party like crazy and someone else has to worry about the aftermath. I'm a terrible person I know.
LOL!!! I love it! That is sooooo cute! You are supermom! I have 2 kids, and right now, that's about all I can handle!
A Supermom is a person who knows that it is perfectly awesome to serve her children ramen noodles for dinner (their FAVORITE)after being an incredible friend to take care of THREE extra kids (one of them only three weeks old) and then let the mother of those three kids and her fourth join your three kids and allow the said children to create who-knows-what havoc in the basement (even is kind to understand when her 8-year-old comes up crying because said friend's two-year-old was being a total tyrant and pinching him fiercely) while Supermom is kind enough to talk to new-mother-of-four who is desperate for socialization.
Yes, you are SuperMom!!!
And, I'm totally ok if in 15 or so years, especially as you keep teaching Jameson to treat women so well, if he and Zoë get together! And, if not one of my daughters (I've got four if the first one doesn't fit his taste), then he will be an awesome husband at any rate!
